Airbus prepara el camino para una entrada en servicio adelantada a octubre de 2015 - Airbus paving the way for an earlier entry-into-service in October 2015

Los clientes han seleccionado el PW1100G de Pratt & Whitney como un primer motor que utilizará para el desarrollo de la Familia A320neo. Se prepara así el camino para la fase de desarrollo industrial. Gracias a la excelente acogida de la Familia A320neo y que ya cuenta con más de 300 pedidos, Airbus adelanta su entrada en servicio, prevista a partir de 2016, a octubre de 2015.

El A320neo incorpora nuevos y más eficientes motores y

Sharklets (elementos aerodinámicos en los extremos del ala), que generarán conjuntamente hasta un 15% de ahorro en consumo de combustible (equivalente a 3.600 toneladas anuales de CO2 por avión). El A320neo ofrece, también, una importante reducción de emisiones de NOx que alcanza los dos dígitos y una disminución del ruido, convirtiéndose en un visitante bien recibido en cualquier aeropuerto.

“La excepcional acogida de la Familia A320neo entre las aerolíneas, por sus ventajas operacionales, económicas y medioambientales, nos ha animado a adelantar su entrada en servicio a octubre de 2015”, ha apuntado John Leahy, director del Área de Clientes de Airbus.

“En cooperación con nuestros socios, Pratt & Whitney and CFMI, estamos realizando todo el esfuerzo posible para conseguir que el A320neo entre en servicio lo antes posible”, añadió.

La Familia A320 (A318, A319, A320 y A321) está reconocida como la familia de referencia entre los aviones de pasillo único. Cerca de 7.000 aviones de la Familia A320 han sido vendidos y más de 4.600 entregados a más de 320 clientes y operadores en todo el mundo. El A320neo compartirá un 95% de comunalidad con la Familia A320, y ofrecerá 500 millas náuticas (950 kilómetros) más de alcance o el equivalente a dos toneladas adicionales de carga de pago. Los motores disponibles para este avión son el LEAP-X de CFM International y PW1100G de Pratt & Whitney.

Customers have selected Pratt & Whitney’s PW1100G turbofan as the lead development engine for the A320neo Family, paving the way for the industrial development phase to begin in earnest. In addition, with total A320neo Family commitments now already in excess of 300, Airbus has responded to this spectacular market reception by bringing forward the entry-into-service from 2016 to October 2015.

The A320neo incorporates new more efficient engines and large "Sharklet" wing tip devices, which together will deliver up to 15 percent in fuel savings. This will represent some 3,600 tonnes less CO₂ per aircraft, per year. In addition, the A320neo will provide a double-digit reduction in NOx emissions and reduced engine noise, thus being a good neighbour at any airport where airlines will operate the aircraft.

“The exceptional market demand for the A320neo Family as airlines recognise the operational, economic and environmental advantages which the neo will deliver, has encouraged us to advance the entry into service date to October 2015,” says John Leahy, Airbus’ Chief Operating Officer, Customers.

“Together with our engine partners, Pratt & Whitney and CFMI, we’re making every possible effort to bring the first A320neo aircraft into service for our customers as quickly as possible,” he adds.

The A320 Family (A318, A319, A320 and A321) is recognised as the benchmark single-aisle aircraft family. Nearly 7,000 Airbus A320 Family aircraft have been ordered and over 4,600 delivered to more than 320 customers and operators worldwide. The A320neo will have over 95 percent airframe commonality with the existing models making it an easy fit into existing fleets while offering up to 500 nautical miles (950 kilometres) more range or two tonnes more payload. Engines offered on the A320neo are CFM International’s LEAP-X and Pratt & Whitney’s PurePower PW1100G.
