El fabricante de aviones turbo propulsados, ATR celebro hoy en Toulouse la entrega de los primeros dos ATR-72-600 en presencia de la delegación de Royal Air Maroc, quien será el primer operador del nuevo ATR serie “600”.
El avión de 70 plazas permitirá a la aerolínea nacional de Marruecos reforzar sus rutas nacionales e internacionales más cercanas. En 2009 la aerolínea ordeno 4 ATR-72-600 y 2 ATR-42-600, por un total de alrededor de USD 125 millones.
Estos ATR-72-600 son los primeros equipados con el nuevo interior de cabina “Armonía”, especialmente diseñado para ATR por la compañía Italiana Giugiaro. Que incluye nuevos asientos más livianos y más cómodos, proporcionando a los pasajeros más espacio, también los compartimientos superiores para equipaje son más amplios.
Son los primeros en estar equipados con la nueva suite de aviónica desarrollada por Thales. El Copckpit cuenta con 5 pantallas de cristal y nuevos sistemas de comunicación, navegación y vigilancia. Nuevo sistema de gestión de vuelo (FMS), piloto automático, gestión de alertas y una nueva computadora incluyendo nuevas funciones de mantenimiento de la aeronave entre otras novedades.
EL ATR-72-600 ha obtenido la certificación EASA, European Aviation Safety Agency por sus siglas en Ingles, en mayo de 2011, un requisito previo para su entrada en servicio. El ATR-42-600 será certificado para finales de este año y entrará en servicio en 2012. Desde el lanzamiento del programa de los nuevos ATR “600” series, ATR ha obtenido pedidos por unos 180 aviones.

The 70-seater aircraft will allow the Moroccan national airline to reinforce its domestic and its nearest international network. In 2009 the airline ordered four ATR 72-600s and two ATR 42-600s, for a total of over US$ 125 million.

These ATR 72-600s of which the first aircraft was on exhibit at the 2011 Paris Air Show, are the first ones to be equipped with the new "Armonia" cabin, specially designed for ATR by the Italian company Giugiaro Design. It includes new seats that are both lighter and more comfortable, providing passengers with more room, as well as more spacious overhead compartments.
These are also the first ATR aircraft to be equipped with the new avionics suite developed by Thales. The avionics feature a new glass cockpit with 5 screens and new communication, navigation and monitoring systems. It is also equipped with a new flight management system (FMS), automatic pilot, alert management and a new computer including new aircraft maintenance functions, among other developments.
The ATR 72-600 obtained European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) certification in May 2011, a prerequisite for its entry into service. The ATR 42-600 will be certified by the end of the year and will enter into service in 2012. Since the launch of the ATR “-600” program in October 2007, ATR has already recorded orders for some 180 “-600” series aircraft.
